So while I realize that I am placing myself right into the category that I just labeled as conceited, I hope those reading can understand one thing: I'm doing this as a personal discipline and commitment to myself. That is my main purpose. If others are interested in observing as I document that purpose, then my other purpose and hope is to bring encouragement and inspiration to those onlookers. Therefore, I fully welcome this observation.
That having been said, I hope I don't appear too vain as I continue my blogging endeavor.

I think it is a great way to journal your life and the life of your family. I have been blogging for five years and it has been extremely useful. I have used it to journal the grief of losing two grandparents in eight weeks, to journal funny things my kids say. It has been very useful to keep family and friends updated during M's sickness. I have made two of the best friends a girl could want via blogging.
I think good can come from it. People don't have to read and may not read it. But someday, you can bind it into a book and remember from where you came. I can go back to my older blogs and see growth in my writing, my family and most of all myself.
Blog on friend and enjoy!
Thanks, Julie! You're so encouraging! :)
Maribeth you are one of the least vain people I know, and I think you'd really have to try to be vain. Keep up the good work, and since I'm more vain read my blog too ;) jk.
