My Experiences Within Motherhood, & my Attempts to Maintain a Personal Life Outside of It.

My experiences within motherhood and my attempt to maintain a personal life outside of it.
...Here I record my own self discipline: My commitment not to "let myself go". My promise to seek my God and follow my passions.
My attempt to do so despite and amidst the chaos of chasing around my high-energy kids while learning the French culture...

One Year Ago

Happy Mother's Day, to every woman who has had any part in providing nurturing love to a child. Today is for you.
Last year was my very first Mother's Day. This day has quickly become among my favorite days of the year. Until you become a parent, you never realize the pride and joy that is held in this invaluable role. I love this day not because it's about me, so to speak, but because it recognizes and pays homage to the thing that we mom's do on a daily basis. We preform the self-sacrificing role as mom without giving it a second thought, while it is the one thing in which lies more purpose than we have ever known before. This is a beautiful and gracious quality that the Lord instills in every loving mother.
One year ago, we dedicated our little Charity to the Lord. One year ago, she was so small. One year ago, though she had only been in my life for two months, my tiny little daughter brought me such a sense of satisfaction in my new role as I was thanked and celebrated. I love Mother's Day.
To all the Moms out there: your role in your child's lives can be compared to no one else. Thank you for your commitment to always seeing that your children received the best in everything. If you are not yet a Mother, take the opportunity to do more than give your mom a card or flowers on this day. Recognize the value that she has had in your life, and let her know. I mean really let her know. She is more than deserving of your praise.
To my Mom: Thank you for the prayers, the tears, the sweat, the pain, the joys, the support, and the love that you have poured into my life over the last 27 years. Thank you for committing to be the person that I could always count on. Thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty. I love you more with every year that God grants me. Know that who you are in my life will always be tremendously valued.
I love you, mom.

How fun to look at the pictures from last year to this one- what a difference. The only thing that stayed the exact same was the look of complete joy and adoration in your eyes as you held your baby.
Happy mother's day MB, how awesome.

The difference between last year's Mother's Day pictures and this year's is that now you can see how much Charity adores you, her Mother! You are a wonderful Mother Maribeth!!!

Love,

Mom Hinton
