Ten Things That Made This Week Wonderful:
- Monday, we left for a pastor's conference in Las Vegas, of all places. I had never been to Vegas before. We were there Monday-Thursday. An excellent speaker, and the time was actually very refreshing.
- While in Vegas, we got to hang with some old Simpson friends and fellow youth pastors who are now serving in Hawaii (I know, what a tough job!). It was fun to tour the strip with them and encourage each other in our ministries.
- Also at the conference, it was a great opportunity to get to know our children's pastor and his wife better. We got to enjoy a pazookie together at BJ's!
- Charity traveled so well! It was a six hour drive, so I'm proud of her! And thanks to the generosity of John's secretary, we had a portable DVD player with us so Baby Einstein came along for the ride!
- By Friday, it was nice just to relax and be home.
- Our kitchen is finally COMPLETELY baby proofed, as John put latches on the last two drawers on Saturday. Charity was pulling every kitchen utensil out and onto the floor, so it's nice to have that contained finally!
- Saturday night we went out to eat at our favorite local restaurant with an out of town guest. At random, one of our high school students offered to watch Charity while we went out. What a nice last minute treat!
- I've been on a musical kick all week. It's fun reveling in one of my old passions. So far I've watched Gigi, Hello Dolly, and Funny Girl. I've also been watching youtube videos of my favorite broadway singers at their best, like this one:
- Went to the grocery store and bought pita bread and hummus... what a delightful snack!
- Charity slept eleven hours last night and took two good naps today... always nice when she decides to sleep well. This means Mama can relax!

I have been wanting to try a Pazookie. All of my So.Ca friends love them.
Been on a old movie, musical kick too!
I love hummus and pita. Been trying to perfect making hummus myself.
Sounds like a great week!
