My Experiences Within Motherhood, & my Attempts to Maintain a Personal Life Outside of It.

My experiences within motherhood and my attempt to maintain a personal life outside of it.
...Here I record my own self discipline: My commitment not to "let myself go". My promise to seek my God and follow my passions.
My attempt to do so despite and amidst the chaos of chasing around my high-energy kids while learning the French culture...

Common

"Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay
some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?"
{Romans 9:21}

We all want to be the piece of pottery made for noble purposes, don't we?  I think somewhere in our pride we think that we must be God's prized piece.... and, "Oh the plans God has for you!".  Not to negate that.  God's plans for you are perfect and prosperous.  We are assured of this in Jeremiah 29.

...But what if I am only designed for common use?  Is that so bad?  Isn't the pottery needed for every day, common tasks just as necessary as those designed for nobility?

What if all I accomplish in this life is simple.  What if all I do by the day the last page is written is to have loved my God well, respected and devoted my love to my husband, and to have been a consistent mother who reared her children to be decent members of society and lovers of Jesus?  ...What if? There is something noble left in that.  Even if I never take part in something that is seemly glamourous/great/noble in the eyes of man.  If I never lead more than three people to Christ, or change the motivations of an entire generation, or stop the sex trade, or become a renouned author or great influencer..... Even if I have just been made for common use.  The fact that I was made for use for the Creator is noble enough... isn't it?

....Just my thoughts for the morning...

Is there actually anything bigger than raising the next generation for God?
God stresses how important it is for parents to talk about him to their children on a daily basis. That means taking the time to know your child and be there on a daily basis. To me being a God loving, fearing parent is one of the most noble of positions in the Kingdom.
